shutdown, inservice inspec-tionwasconducted onpipesupportanchorbolts.Sixsuchinstallations insidecontainment wereobservednotbuiltinaccordance withdrawings.

DataonthesesupportswasreportedtotheEngineering Department onMarch26,1979.Theevaluation ofthedataonfourofthesupports(RH-21,RH-22,RH-32,RH-33)resultedintheconclusion thattheyrequiredcorrec-tiontoassurethecapability toperformtheirintendedfunction.

Theevalu-ationoftheothertwosupports(CH-9andCH-10)showedthattheexistinginstallations areadequatetoassureperformance oftheirintendedfunctions.

OnMarch27theEngineering Department wasrequested todetermine additional supportsforinspection toassurethatthediscrepancies foundonRH-21,22,32and33werelimitedtothem.Over500pipesupportdrawingswerethenreviewed.

TheresultsofthisreviewshowedthattherewerenootherSeismicCategoryIsupportsofsimilardesign.Consequently, sixadditional supportsoutsidecontainment ofvariousdesignscontaining anchorboltswereselectedatrandomforinspection.

Thesesupportswerelocatedonseveralsafetyrelatedsystemsinvariouslocations throughout theplant.Theevaluation oftheinspection results(NCR'sG-79-38throughG-79-43)forthesesupportsshowsthatalltheexistinginstallations areadequatetoassureperformance oftheirintendedfunctions.

Itwasconcluded thatthediscrepancies foundonRH-21,22,32and33wereuniquetothosesupports.

Itisbelievedthattheywerecausedbythefieldconditions relativetothespecificlocationofthesesupports.

Correction ofthesesupportswasjudgedtobethemostprudentandconserv-ativeapproachbasedonthenatureofthediscrepancies andtheintendedfunctionofthesupports.

Thedrawingdiscrepancies foundontheremaining

supports, bothinsideandoutsidecontainment, werejudgedtobeofminimalconsequence, andinallcasesitwasdetermined thatthesupportsmettheirintendeddesignfunction.
