Attached is a requesc for change to the Technical Specifications, Appendix A of the Operating Licenses, for the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant.
This request is submitted in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR Part 50, Section 50.90. These requested amendments will revise the Administrative Controls (Chapter 6) Section of the Prairie Island Technical Specifications and other Technical Specification sections impacted by the Chapter 6 changes to conform to NUREG-1431, Standard Technical Specifications, Westinghouse Plants, Revision 1.
Exhibit A contains a description of the proposed changes, the reasons for requesting the changes, and the supporting safety evaluation and significant hazards determination. Exhibit B contains current Prairie Island Technical Specification pages marked up to show the proposed changes. Exhibit C contains i the revised Prairie Island Technical Specification pages. Exhibit D contains I marked up pages of comparable Standard Technical Specification Administrative Controls pages.
To assure a smooth transition to the proposed Technical Specifications, we request that the implementation period be extended to 90 days upon issuance of this proposed amendment. l 007
