Theaffectedbistables wereplacedinthetrippedcondition.

Duringthisdepressurization, atapproximately 1642EST,twochannels(P-947andP-948)didnotshowanyresponsetothesmallchangeinCNMTpressure.

Thiseventwasfirstidentified duetotheastuteobservation ofaControlRoomoperatoronJanuary20,1994,whoquestioned aslightdifference inindications forCNMTpressure.
Thesmalldeviation betweenredundant channelswaswithinthetolerance ofMainControlBoardinstrumentation channelchecks.ThemonthlyChannelFunctional TestsandannualChannelCalibrations associated withthesechannels(asrequiredbyTSTable4.1-1forunitsf17andf25)didnotdetecttheobstructed tubinglineduetothelocationoftheobstruction.
ThesludgewaslocatedbetweenCNMTandtherootisolation valvesforPT-947andPT-948.Theserootisolation valvesareclosedduringperformance ofthenecessary testsandcalibrations, inordertopressurize thevolumebetweenthevalveandthepressuretransmitter.
