ITEMS OF INTEREST COMBUSTION ENGINEERING Personnel from Combustion Engineering, Windsor and Hematite facilities, met with FCUP staff members on June 18, 1985, to discuss what information would be needed and the staff's estimated review time to amend their special nuclear material licenses to authorize the possession and use of enriched uranium containing a maximum of 5.0 w/o U-235. Major license amendments will be required.
The licensees will depend more on moderation controls to process the higher enriched material. The current licenses authorize the processing of materials having a maximum enrichment of 4.1 w/o U-235.
BEAVER VALLEY GENERATING STATION, UNIT 2 Mr. Tom Zoglemann, licensing representative for the Duquesne Light Company, met with FCUP staff members on June 13, 1985, to discuss the 10 CFR Part 70 special nuclear material licensing requirements for Beaver Valley Generating Station, Unit 2. The application was discussed and the staff indicated what additional information was needed based on the discussion. Additional information will be submitted by the applicant for review.
WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORPORATION, COLUM3IA, SOUTH CAROLINA On June 13, 1985, representatives of Westinghouse and NMSS/FC met in the Willste Building to discuss supplemental information to supplement an application to install nonfavorable geometry UNH storage tanks. The discussion concerned environ-mental and nuclear criticality safety issues.
DOE DRAFT TRANSPORTATION BUSINESS PLAN The Commission has received for comment a Draft Transportation Business Plan from DOE's Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management (OCRWM).
