SUBJECT:
ITEMS OF INTEREST COMBUSTION ENGINEERING FUEL FACILITY, WINDSOR, CONNECTICUT On December 10, 1987, NMSS and Region I staff members met with representatives of Combustion Engineering (CE) to discuss issues related to the forthcoming license renewal application for fuel fabrication activities at the_CE Windsor facility. The topics included nuclear criticality safety considerations related to an increase in the maximum uranium enrichment of fuel processed and fabricated at both the CE Windsor and the Hematite (NO) plants as well as management control issues that were the subject of a recent management enforcement conference regarding inspection findings at the Windsor facility. The license renewal application is to be submitted in early CY 1988.
