DEFICIENCY IN FLEXIBLE ELEMENT OF DRIVE COUPLINGS FOR DIESEL GENERATORS SUPPLIED BY TDI (3) CLOSE0VT OF AITS NO. F02700209.

SHEARED CAPSCREW HEAD SHORTED GENERATOR OF DIESEL GENERATOR SUPPLIED BY TDI A Vendor Program Branch (VPB) inspection was performed at TDI, Oakland, California, plant on July 11-15, 1983, which included the subject items in the scope.

The results of the inspection are documented in the attached VPB Inspection Report No.

( It is recommended that Region II followup at TVA and a Shearon Harris and Vogtle in regard to the piston skirt deficiency.

There was no evidence available during the inspection that these licensees had responded to the TDI notification.

By copy of this memorandum, RIV (J. E. Gagliardo) is also notified that Comanche Peak has similarly not responded to TDI.

The subject AITS items have now been closed by the VPB.
