CLOSE0VT OF AITS NO. F02700328 (VITS NO. 83-022) - BOLTING MATERIAL IN DIESEL GENERATOR NOT PROPERLY IDENTIFIED'IN ACCORDANCE WITH DESIGN REQUIREMENTS A Vendor Program Branch (VPB) inspection was conducted on July 11-15, 1983, at the Transamerica Delaval, Inc. , facility in Oakland, California, which included the subject item in the scope. The results of the inspection are documented in the attached VPB Inspection Report No. 6 In summary, the problem appears to relate to a misunderstanding between Ebasco and Transamerica Delaval, Inc. , in regard to whether bolting material should have been procured to AISI or ASTM specifications. Material was procured to AISI 4140 requirements. Review of correspondence between the parties indicates this matter appears to have been resolved.       Specification review by the NRC inspector did not indicate any requirement that bolting materials should have been ordered to ASTM specifications.
