SUMMARY

OF NOVEMBER 16, 2011, PUBLIC MEETING WITH TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY REGARDING WATTS BAR NUCLEAR PLANT, UNIT 2, FINAL SAFETY ANALYSIS REPORT RELATED TO SECTION 9.5.1 FIRE PROTECTION On November 16, 2011, a Category 1 public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and representatives of the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) at NRC Headquarters, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the NRC staff's questions and comments on the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant Unit 2 Final Safety Analysis Report, Section 9.5.1, Fire Protection Report, in support of TVA's application for an operating license. A list of participants is enclosed.

The meeting consisted of the NRC staff and TVA staff discussing recent requests for additional information response clarifications on the fire protection report for Watts Bar Unit 2. Two additional issues from the meeting required TVA to submit additional information regarding:

positive statements regarding compliance with Appendix R III.G requirements, and fire brigade training requirements with respect to individual brigade members.

Members of the public did not participate in the meeting.
