RE: Training for PRNMS Alan, Below is a draft response to George's question. Please let me know if this is what he needs and if you need the response via docketed correspondence.

Thanks!

Guy The schedule for the PRNMS modification allows adequate time to provide training to all operations shift crews during the normal training rotation prior to startup from the 2012 refueling outage. Therefore, Entergy does not anticipate the need for Just-In-Time (JIT) training. The training on PRNMS, which includes the OPRM functions, will include the 'indicate-only' mode of OPRM during the OPRM Monitoring Period and also long-term operation following the monitoring period. ONEP 05-1-02-III-3 will be covered in this training.

As discussed in the response to RAI 5.a provided in Entergy letter GNRO-2011/00044, classroom training is scheduled to begin fourth quarter 2011. In the response to RAI 4 provided in Entergy letter GNRO-2010/00035 (ADAMS Accession No. ML101410094), Entergy stated we are planning to conduct startup simulator training for operations crews during the 2012 refueling outage. This training is to include operating aspects of PRNMS, including the OPRM functions.

Training for PRNMS Alan, The licensee stated "-the operator actions specified in ONEP 05-1-02-III-3 are being retained as backup stability protection measures to be implemented for the initial "indication-only" monitoring period and, for the long term, in the event of a loss of the OPRM Upscale trip function." Do they have any plans to provide JIT training for operators on ONEP 05-1-02-III-3 prior to operation with the OPRM function of PRNMS in the "indication-only" mode?
