Letter from TVA to NRC dated June 26, 1987, "Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (SQN) - NRC Request for Additional Information Regarding Auxiliary feedwater (AFH) Flow and Pressure Requirements" In accordance with 10 CFR 50.90, we are enclosing a requested amendment to license DPR-79 to change the technical specifications of SQN unit 2. The proposed change revises the unit 2 surveillance requirement (SR) 4.7.1.2.a to add pump-specific, differential pressure test values for each AFH pump. The associated bases section of the unit 2 technical specifications is revised for clarification.

The proposed technical specification change is identified in enclosure 1. The justification for the proposed technical specification change is provided in enclosure 2. A proposed determination of no significant hazards consideration performed pursuant to 10 CFR 50.92 is provided la cnclosure 3.

Enclosed is a check for the $150 amendment application fee required by 10 CFR 170.12.

% 4 U.S. Nucleaar Regulatory Commission MAY 261988 By letter dated December 23, 1986, TVA committed to submit the unit 2 technical specification change within 60 days of completion of the mode 3 testing.

Jack Donohew was notified by telephone that the AFH mode 3 testing for unit 2 was considered field complete on March 23, 1988. Therefore, the proposed change was due to NRC May 22, 1988. Mr. Donohew was notified by telephone on May 19, 1988, that because of a temporary redirection of resources, the May 22 date-would not be met. During the telephone call, Mr Donohew was informed that the technical specification change would be submitted on or before May 27, 1988.
