Dear Mr. Denton:

)

In the Matter of ) Docket Nos. 50-327 Tennessee Valley Authority ) 50-328 1 In accordance with 10 CFR Part 50.59, we are enclosing 40 copies of a requested amendment to operating licenses DPR-77 and DPR-79 for a temporary change to the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant units 1 and 2 technical specifications (Enclosure 1). The proposed amendment requests a change in the requirement that containment sump level instrumentation be operable for automatic switchover from RWST to containment sump and accident monitoring. The justification to support the proposed change is also provided (Enclosure 2).

TVA requests this temporary technical specification for a period of 30 days, to be effective June 18, 1982 and to continue until July 18, 1982.

In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR Part 170.22, we have determined the proposed amendment to be Class III for unit 1 and Class I for unit 2.

This classification is based on the fact that the amendment involves a single safety issue and involves a second essentially identical unit at the same site. The remittance of $4,400 is being wired to the Nuclear.

Regulatory Commission, Attention: Licensing Fee Management Branch.
