By letter dated December 23, 2014, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KHNP) submitted Technical Report (TR) APR1400-Z-M-NR-14008, Revision 0, Pressure-Temperature Limits Methodology for [Reactor Coolant System] RCS Heatup and Cooldown, in support of the APR1400 design certification application (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML15008A439). On March 19, 2018, KHNP submitted Revision 1 of this report (ADAMS Accession No. ML18087A118). | |||
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has found that TR APR1400-Z-M-NR-14008, Revision 1, is acceptable for use in combined license applications referencing the APR1400 design to the extent specified and under the conditions and limitations delineated in the enclosed safety evaluation report (SER). The SER defines the basis for acceptance of the TR. | |||
The enclosed SER is being provided to KHNP for review of proprietary information pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 2.390, Public Inspections, Exemptions, Requests for Withholding. The NRC will withhold the enclosed SER from public disclosure for a total of 10 business day to allow you the opportunity to verify the staffs SER for proprietary content or security-related information not previously identified, and to perform a check for factual errors. To facilitate the NRC staffs review, please provide a marked-up copy of the SER identifying any proprietary or security-related information in addition to any factual errors or clarity concerns within 10 days from the date of this letter. | |||
