On January 27, 2010, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed a security inspection of the Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) at the Fermi 2 Nuclear Power Station (NPS), Newport, Michigan. The purpose of the inspection was to evaluate whether the protection of the ISFSI was in compliance with the Fermi 2 Physical Security Plan (PSP) and the NRC Order EA-09-072, "Issuance of Order for Implementation of Additional Security Measures and Fingerprinting for Unescorted Access for Fermi Power Plant Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation," dated April 7, 2009. In addition, the inspectors verified the location of your instrument calibrators, and determined whether their use and storage was conducted safely and in accordance with 10 CFR Part 20 requirements. At the conclusion of the on-site inspection on January 27, 2010, the inspector discussed the inspection findings with members of your security and radiation protection staff.
