A generic EIS is unacceptable as the North Anna plants sit on a known earthquake fault line. Subsequent to the Mineral, Va earthquake of 2011, what seismic upgrades have been made to the aging plants to withstand future earthquakes? Were any upgrades substandard for cost containment?
There are many but a few of the questions:
What are the conditions of the reactor foundation liners and all its related systems? What is the current condition of the earthen dams?
Has the NRC utilized safety lessons from Fukishima-Daiishi?
How has the pandemic affected inspections and training for maintenance and the inspections?
What are the plans for long tern storage waste?
What has Dominion done to educate the immediate surrounding communities and those in the 50 mile radius?
And what about evacuation plans in an emergency?
All of these questions (and more) relate specifically to safety standards that must be solved before any consideration of a license renewal. I urge the NRC to put safety above all else.
