August 11, 1998 LICENSEE: Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation FACILITY: Wolf Creek Generating Station, Unit 1

SUBJECT:

MEETING WITH WOLF CREEK NUCLEAR OPERATING CORPORATION (WCNOC) REGARDING A PLANNED SUPPLEMENT TO WCNOC'S AUGUST 6,1997, PROPOSED REVISION TO THE WOLF CREEK GENERATING STATION EMERGENCY PLAN (TAC NO, M99379)

On Thursday, Auguet 6,1998, a meeting was held between Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (WCNOC) and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to discuss the licensee's plans to supplement its August 6,1997, proposed revision to the Wolf Creek Generating Station (WCGS) Emergency Plan. Attachment 1 is a list of attendees. Attachment 2 is the licensee's presentation material used during the meeting.

During the meeting, WCNOC indicated that they recognize their August 6,1997, submittal requesting approval of changes to the WCGS Emergency Plan contained errors, and the justification for certain changes lacked depth and completeness. WCNOC indicated they completed a review and re-evaloation of the submittal, including WCNOC's position on some of the proposed changes, and as a result, plan to supplement their August 6,1997, submittal for NRC review by early September 1998. WCNOC provided the NRC with an overview of the planned supplement, and the NRC staff provided WCNOC with feedback on the depth of review and justification needed to support NRC review of the changes that will be proposed in the supplement.

At the conclusion of tae meeting, the NRC staff indicated that it will review WCNOC's supplement when it is submitted.
