20555 Docket Number 50-293 License DPR-35 Airborne Effluent Notification Point Gentlemen:

For your'information we hereby report that the notification point of 0.5 Ci/

reactor, as described in section 3.8.B.2(f) of the FNPS Technical Specifica-tion, was surpassed during the second quarter of 1975. The total amount of iodine 131 released from Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station during the second quarter of 1975 was 0.558 curies.

An investigation to identify the cause of the iodine 131 release rate is in progress and a comprehensive program, including the use of consultants and specific Boston Edison Company personnel, has been defined and initiated to reduce the release rates of iodine 131 to the design objective level.
