1.0 REFERENCE 1-A CP-EP-4.6, " Field Design Change Control Procedure" 2.0 GENERAL 2.1 RJRPOSE The purpose of this instruction is to set forth the :Tethod by which the provisions of Reference 1-A are carried out by CPP Mechanical Engineering.

2.2 SCOPE This instruction describes the handling of 01C's and DCA's to the point of field design verification.
This instruction does not include field design review or the securing of necessary original designer and/or vendor approvals.
2.3 RESPONSIBILITY It shall be the responsibility of the CP Project Mechanical Engineer to assure the implementation of this instruction.
The delegation of authority to prepare and approve 01C's and DCA's shall be the responsibility of the CPP Mechanical Engineer.
Authority shall be granted on the basis of each persons work performance and experience.
Khere a uccific individual is designated by title in this instruction, it is understocd that his designee can act in his official capacity.

6/23/83 2 of 4 3.0 INSTRUCTION 3.1 DCA EURM The DCA form shall be prepared in accordance with Reference 1-A,.
A responsible individual authorized per Section 2.3 shall approve the change. Such approval shall release the change for construction.
Distribution shall be in accordance with " Standard Distribution" as preprinted on the DCA form. Additional distribution shall be indicated as required.
3.2 CMC CARD 3.2.1 General Requirefrents CMC's shall be drawn from DCC by respective Mechanical Engineering Clerks.
Individuals requiring CMC's shall draw them, on an as need basis, frcm the Group Clerk.
The Group Clerk shall maintain a log of each CMC issued. This log shall include the following information:
- a. CNC Serial Number
- b. Document / Drawing Number Affected
- c. CMC Originator's Initials
- d. Date Issued
- e. Date Returned
- f. Cbnments
- g. Date Original CMC Transmitted to Technical Services CMC's shall be prepared in accordance with Reference 1-A, Attacinent 2.
The following specific nodifications shall be, but not be limited to, classified as design changes for piping CMC's:
- 1. Re-route or change to the configuration of large bore high energy lines.

- 2. Major re-route or significant change to the configuration of safety related large bare pipe.
- 3. Other tbdifications which affect piping composites or flow diagrams shall be classified as deviations.
- 4. All other madifications shall be "N/A".
'Ihe responsible individual authorized per Section 2.3 shall approve the change. Such approval shall release the change for construction.
3.2.2 Distribution of CMC's 3.2.2.1 Piping CMC's shall te distributed as follows:
- a. DCC 1 Copy 1
The following shall be indicated per Section 9 " Distribution" of the CMC:
- a. Design Change Tracking Group (DCIU) 1 Copy
- b. PSE 1 Copy (Design Changes or Deviations Only)
- c. Damage Study Group 1 Copy (High Energy Lines Only) 3.2.2.2 HVAC 04C's shall be distributed as follows:

- a. DCC 1 Copy The following shall be indicated per Section 9 " Distribution" of the i
CMC:
- a. Procurement (Subcontracts) 1 Copy (When Bahnson is Affected only)

3.4.1
'Ihe original CMC may be revised by completing the following:
'Ihe appropriate revision number shall be placed adjacent to a.
the serial number.
b.
Changes to the CMC shall be clearly marked with the revision number and the revised area shall be ballooned.

3.4.2 Wen deemed necessary because of the complexity of the change, a new CMC may be prepared depicting the required changes. The card shall contain the statement:
"This CNC voids and supercedes document number revision i
f 3.4.3 Distribution of revised CMC's shall be in accordance with Section 3.2.2.
i 3.5 WIDItG CMC'S When an occasion arises where a CMC has been issued and is no loncer i
necessary, it must be voided. Ib void a CMC it must be revised _ and l
clearly marked " Void - Not Superseded." A CMC which has been wided shall not be reactivated.
