Eleva tions, for each BRP, shall be in reference to a single bench mark.
l 1
Whenever possible a surveyor's level and a level rod shall be used to detemine elevations.
If necessary, a steel tape may be used to measure vertical lengths.
i b.
Horizontal dimensions shall be verified by measurement
{
to and from defined points, i.e.; tangent intersection i
r i
points, support centerline, etc..
Such measurements i
j shall be taken using a steel tape and plumb bob (when j
necessary) to obtain a true horizontal length.
1 i
c.
If a vertical run of pipe can be determined to be ou t-o f-plumb, the Technical Services As-Built i
Coordinator will be contacted to determine the degree of plumbness required.
3.2.2 Valves The valve location and mark (type) number shall be verified.
j
(
For all valves 2 inches nominal pipe size and larger, as i
well as power actuated 2 inches nominal pipe size and

t 3.2.4 Interconnectino Equipment All interconnecting equipinent such as
- pumps, tanks, strainers, etc. shall be clearly identified on the BRP. This shall include as a minimum the equipment mark number.
The.
orientatioq of any item that is totally supported by the interconnecting piping shall be clearly shown on the BRP.
If the above infon1ation is found to be as shown on drawing, the equipment item shall be circled ind checked. If there exists some yariance then the item shall be circled and the appropriate infonnation shall be noted adjacent to the circle.
3.3 VERIFICATION OF BRHL DRAWINGS:
i
)
All BRHL drawings shall be verified to ascertain the folloviing:
a.
The number of lastalled hangers agrees with the nunber shown on the BRHL.
This shall be shown on Section III of the As-Built Checklist (Reference 1-A),
b.
The actual mark numbers agree with the r:,rk numbers shown on the BRHL.
If this is the case, the number shall be circled and a check shall be me je adjacent 4
to the circle.
If the numbers do not agree the number j
appearing on the drawing shall be circled and the actual mark number written adjacent to it.
c.
The dimensional location of each support shall be j
verified and recorded in manner delineated in 3.2.1.
d.
Hangers designated anchors that are cast in concrete l
shall be vert fled in place.
This shall be _ shown on Section !!! of the As-Built Checklist.

3.5 VERIFICATION OF BRH'S 1.5.1 Installed Hangers All BRH hanger sketches shall be verified to ascertain the following:
a.
The actual conriquration of the he,ec agrees with that shown on the BRH.
b.
The orientation of t'e hanger agrees with the orienEATion showd on the BRH.
The total clearance between the hanger and the ge is c.
equal to that shown oTtTe BR3.
~~
All of the above shall be documented on Section III of the As-Bu11LChecklisj7Kdditiona'lTi~,~ th'e InspectoF~~will circle and check the 3RH number on the 3R3 f f (a) and (b) are correct.
If not, the number shall remain unmarked and the
(
QA As-BuiTt Co~ordinator shall be notified, so that he then
~
y may tale the necessary steps to correct the drawing _or, the
, hanger.
The As-Built Inspector will also mark the BRH for Item (c) in the manner delineated in paragraph 3.1.1.-
3.5.2 Non-Installed Hangers If a hanger is not installed, the clearance around the pipe will be checked to assure that the hanger can be installed per design drawing.
The BRH number for each uninstalled hanger shall be documented on the Uninstalled Hanger List (Reference 1-A).
2 3.5.3 Sway Struts The QA As-Built inspector will veri fy the following when sway struts are encountered in As-Built verification:
a.
pipe Clamp Assembly bearing washers / space's are installedbetweentheclamphalveswithahigh-strength pin.
Under no circumstances should the clamp bolts t

Rear Bracket Assembly washers shall be on the inside of the bracket ams, one on either side of the sway strut spherical bea ring.
If cotter pins are used, they should be the maximum size the hole will accommodate and shall be fully opened.
If split snap rings are installed, they should be examined to verify that the rings are not broken, sprung or deformed.
c.
The Sway Strut Assembly spherical bearing should be staked tightly in the adjustable ends and should have a washer on either side when installed. The sway strut should have the correct adjustment as per the design drawing and the jamb nuts should be tight.
If engagement sight holes are present on the strut body, thread engagement should be verified.
d.
Sway Strut Unit maximum sway strut misalignment shall not exceed 6* for NPSI and 5' for ITT Grinnel from the center line of the sway strut (12' and 10" included aqle, respectively).
NOTE 1:
The degrees allowed for misalignment are given by the spherical bearings and their relationship to the flat washers.
Nonnally the thicker flat washers are installed on the clamp end and the thinner washers on the rear bracket end.
NOTE 2:
It is extremely important that the clamp halves are parallel.
Excessive gap at the upper end of the clamp can al. low enough space for the spherical bearing to be dislodged from the eye rod end.
If the above criteria appear sa tis factory, the Inspector will check complete on the applicable item on Section III of the As-Built Checklist.
If not, the

b.
Verify special flat washers are installed between the spherical bearing and each clamp half.
NOTE:
The washers allow the limiter to have 26' of freedori (12* included angle).
c.
Verify seismic limiter clanip bolts are double nutted, d.
Verify pinned connections have fully opened cotter pins or split snap rings installed, e.
Veri fy spherical bearings are tightly staked in the attachment ends.
The above hi.all be documente,d in the.nanner shown.,in paragraph 3.5.3.
3.6 AS-8UILT CHECKLIST Upon completica of the As-Built verification in the field, the QA As-Built Inspector shall review the drawing package (see definitions) and complete Section III of the As-Built Checklist.
The jackage is then reviewed by the QA As-Built Coordinator and combined with other drawing packages in the same stress problem.
This combined package is then returned to the Technical Services As-Buil t Coordinator.
3.7 DRAWINGS REVI5i As per Reference 1-A the Technical Services As-Suilt Coordina tor shall send completed,As-Built drawings to the QA As-Built Coordinator for closu re of the As-Built revision.
These drawings shall be compared to red marked drawings by QA As-Buil t Coordinator to assu re that all changes have been made correctly.
If drawings age :orrect the QA As-Buil t Coordinator shall sign th'e drawing accordingly.
If not, the drawings shall be returned unsigned to Technical Services for correction.
All related drawings retained by QA shall he attached to approved drawings and sent to Technical Services.
