1-A CP-EI-4.5-1, "As-Built Piping Verification" i 2.0 GENERAL 2.1 PURPOSE AND SCOPE This Instruction establishes the method utilized by :he QA. , I As-Built Coordinator to conduct verification of stress

( problem packages issued in the As-Built Piping Verification Program (Reference 1-A).

2.2 DEFIllITIONS Draw ng Package - All BRP,BRHL, and GHH drawings, with I associated support drawings, that are involved in one ,

stress problem. ,

Hanger Configuration - the physical layout of the snoport as shown on the BRH drawing and its orientation with respect to the referenced directions (i .e. , North, South, vertical, horizontal,etc.).

Hanger Type - type of support as it effects the support of i the pipe (i .e. , R. A.G.S.K. ) .

l '

Di rection of Support - the axis on which the pipe is supported (i.e., X, Y or Z).

CPSES QI-QP-11.13-1 8 E 0 1 1933 2 of 8 2.3 DOCUMENTATION All markings on drawings, specified in thi-s instruction, shall be in redink. -

All drawings used for As-Built

' Verification shall have an open "As-Built" revision and i shall be controlled issue by Technical Services As-Built Coordinator.

Blueline drawings for each BRP BRHL, and GHH shall be issued to the QA As-Built Coordinator. The QA As-Built Coordinator

< will issue work copies of each for field verification.

l After verification of drawings, all red marks will be neatly i

transferred to the record drawing for returning to the Technical Services As-Built Coordinator.

Field work drawings shall be retained by QA As-Built for final review and closure of the As-Built revision.

i Inconsistencies found during the As-Built inspection of BRHL's, GHH's, BRP's and BRH's will be noted or illustrated

! l on the applicable drawing and its associated documentation. l These items will be transmitted to T..S.A.B.C for resolution.

3.0 INSTRi!CTION 3.1 VERIFICATION OF BRP DRAWINGS 3.1.1 Dimensions At least one point on the pipe configuration on each stress problem will be verified for reference location to column lines.

All dimensions verified shall be accurate within 2 inches.

l If a dimension is as per drawing it shall be circled and checked. If a dimension is at variance with the drawing it shall be circled and the As-Built dimension written adjacent to the circle.

a. Horizontal dimensions shall be verified by measurement to and from defined points, i.e.; tangent intersection points, support centerline, etc., Such measurements shall be taken using a steel tape and plumb bob (when  ;

necessary) to obtain a true horizontal length.

b. If a vertical run of pipe can be determined to be ou t-o f-plumb , the Technical Services As-Bull t Coordinator will be contacted to determine the degree of plumbness required.

3.1.2 Elevations All elevations shall be verified accurate to 21 inch.

In reference to the design elevations shown on the blueline drawing, the following rules apply:

a. Where the elevation (s) shown on the drawing is correct (within the 1 inch tolerance ) it shall be circled and checked.
b. Where the eley'ation(s) is shown on the drawing is incorrect, the elevation shall be circled and the i "As Built" elevation shall be noted.
c. The abbreviation "EL" shall be ' used in reference to the blueline drawing dimension; where additional points

'~ of elevation of that line are taken (in the same horizontal plane) by the Field Engineers (surveyors) they shall be noted.

d. Where the elevation is incorrect, (it exceeds the 21 inch tolerance) "EL" and the correct elevation shall be noted and both shall be circled and checked.

3.1.3 Valves  ;

The valve location shall be verified. For all valves 2h  !

, inches nominal pipe size and larger, as well as power  !

actuated 2 inches nominal pipe size and smaller valves, I

the valve orientation shall be shown on the BRP and verified.

If the valve is oriented as per drawing it shall be circled and checked. If orientation is at variance with drawing then the valve will be circled and the actual orientation i shall be written adjacant to the circle. t 3.1.4 Angles All angles shwon on BRP's shall be verified accurate to 22h degrees. Where the specific angle is not given the l "as built" angle shall be written adjacent to the depicted j angle on the BRP. Angles shall be measured to the nearest

CPSES QI-QP-11.13-1 8 JAN 0 4 1983 4 of a 3.1.5 Sleeves The following infomation shall be verified for all piping passing through structural walls and floors.

a. Identification of pipe sleeve shall be shown on the pipe drawing and the Sleeve Take-Off (Reference 1-A).

Numerical sleeve identification nur.bers shall be assigned for each BRP.

b. Sleeve eccentricity (if any) shall be determined by measuring the clearance between tne pipe and sleeve in 4 positions, each 90 degrees apart. This information, with referenced directions will be shown on the Sleeve Take-Off, and shall be verified to 1/8 inch.
c. Location of sleeve with respect to associated pipe shall be shown on the drawing, by dimension g

verification described in 3.2.1.

3.1.6 Interconnecting Equipment -

All interconnecting equipment such as pumps, tanks, strainers, etc. shall be clearly identified on the pipe drawing. The orientation of any item that is totally supported by the interconnecting pip.ng shall be clearly shown on the BRP.

If the above information is found to be as shown on drawing, the equipment item shall be circled and checked. If there exists some variance then the item shall be circled and the appropriate infomation shall be noted adjacent to the circle.

3.2 VERIFICATION OF BRHL AND GHH DRAWINGS:

All BRHL and GHH drawings shall be verified to ascertain the following:

a. The number of installed hangers agrees with the number shown on the drawing. This shall be shown on Section III of the As-Built Checklist (Reference 1-A). ,
b. The actual mark numbers agree with the mark numbers i

! shown on the drawing. If this is the case, the number shall be circled and a check shall be made adjacent l

i to the circle. If the numbers do not agree the number appearing on the drawing shall be circled and the ,

actual mark number written adjacent to it or the support  ;

drawings will be referenced with mark numbers found.

c. The dimensional location of each support shall be j verified and recorded in manner delineated in 3.2.1.
d. Hangers designated anchors that are cast in concrete shall be verified in place. This shall be shown on Section III of the As-Built Checklist.

3.3 INTERFERENCES 3.3.1 Piping Interferences When piping interferences with respect to other piping, supports, HVAC, etc. are encountered, they shall be noted on the BRHL. The interference shall be dimensioned from j

a known point on the BRHL. The interference (s) shall be noted alphabetically, A through I on each drawing and they 1 shall be depicted Jopposite the point of interference) in a hexagon, e.g. UA . A supplemental sketch shall be prepared depicting the interference with a short description of the interference and any other pertinent data. An i example is given below:

When support interferences are encounted, they shall be l noted on BRHL. The actual . interference shall be sketched on the BRH drawing where the interference occurs; if '

available, identifying nur%rs of the interfering item will be recorded on the BRH.
