RETENTION OF PRESENT TRT QA/QC GROUP PERSONNEL q.
As of 5/24/85, the QA/QC group effort will be complete with the 4
issuance of SER #11. As per previous instructions from you, the 1
subject personnel will be assimilated into the TRT groups supervised by J. Calvo and L. Shao.

That the subject personnel (V..Wenczel, J. Melonson, 1
V. Watson, T. Curry, R. Bonnenburg, and M. Eli) be retained

actively in order to support the forthcoming Licensing

Board Hearings.

That Masrs. Calvo and Shao inform the subject personnel of the approximate dates their services will be required 1

I However, this does not complete the NRC's task. This memorandum is prepared to f
request that the present personnel-(V. Wenczel, J. Malonson, V. Watson, T.
Curry, R. Bonnenburg, and M. Eli) be actively retained for NRC support of the i
following:

Reviewing TUEC's recovery plans in conjunction with Teledyne. Since the SSER authors conducted the investigation of hardware, inspection activities, records and interviews onsite, their review of recovery plans is considered to be essential.

2.
Participating in the ASLB hearings scheduled to begin in September. This is also considered to be essential, since the ASLB typically asks questions of the original investigators, and may not entertain responses

from third parties.
