Supplement Nos. Tand 8 Reference to QA/QC SSER, dated March 8, 1985.

l/

l We have reviewed the coments transmitted in the referenced memoranda regard-ing the integration of Electrical / Instrumentation and Test Program findings of SSER 7 with findings from the QA/QC supplement report.

During F.paration of SSER 7 which precides the QA/QC supplement it was j understood that QA/QC would integrate findings from other technical groups.

1 On that basis, various sections of SSER 7 were structured to refer to appropri-J ate sections oflthe QA/QC supplement thought to address more broadly a parti-j cular issue. The reference memoranda, however, and discussions with QA/QC group staff reveal that the QA/QC supplement will cover a more limited scope l i making referenc'e to findings not fully compatible.

j Therefore, in the interest of preserving consistency in our reports and to avoid unnecessary revisions to SSER 7, we suggest that the QA/QC supplement incorporate in the " Actions Required" sections of the individual QA/QC L

categories the actions offered in the enclosure. Other minor comments of

-ttie referenced memoranda do not require any action on our part. -

I have gone through Supplement No.7 " Electrical / Instrumentation and Test f Programs", and Supplement No. 8, " Civil and Structural and Miscellaneous j Issues", to identify references to related issues that are stated to be, or are implied to be, further addressed in the_ QA/QC SSER, which you are preparing. The related reference issues are highlighted in yellow in the enclosed copies of Supplement Nos. 7 and 8.

( The principle issues and page numbers are also identified in Attachment 1.

] Those page numbers that are marked with an asterisk also comit the NRC to the i preparation of an additional supplement to complete the evaluation of an issue

in the respective individual SSER -- based, in part upon the findings of the i QA/QC Group. Note, however, that only the issue of page J-33, electrical A cable tray support welds, is specifically addressed in the QA/QC draft SSER.

Cross reference to the QA/QC SSER contained in the Test Programs and Miscellaneous sections of Supplement Nos. 7 and 8 do not appear to present any
