Statement of Concern On April 4, 1985, the NRC Senior Resident Inspector at Palo Verde received a call from Mr. Myron Scott of the Coalition of Responsible Energy Education (CREE). Mr. Scott indicated he had received an anonymous call on April 3, 1985 from a former site employee concerning possible MIC corrosion of the ,

Unit No.1 Diesel Generators. The anonymous caller stated this problem occurred about a year ago and provided no other specifics. When asked if he had contacted APS on this item, Mr. Scott stated that he had considered this action, but instead decided to contact the NRC.

NOTE: The essential spray pond system provides cooling water to several heat exchangers associated with the diesel generator packages.
