SUBJECT:

ALLEGATION REVIEW BOARD ACTION An allegation review board, composed of Messrs. Kirsch, Chaffee, Shollenberger, Power and Miller, met on April 18, 1985, to review the allegations presented by allegation number RV-85-A-021. The meeting was delayed until this date due to lack of the required quorum at the Region V office. After reviewing the allegations, the Board decided on the following course of action:

1. Forward to NRR since they have lead on MIC.

  • On April 4 1985 Mr. C. Hernandez received a call f rom Mr. Myron Scott of the Coalition for Responsible Encrgy Education (CREE). Mr. Scott indicated he had received an anon *mous call on April 3, 1985 from a forser site employee concerning possible MIC corrosion of the Unit E 1 Diesel Generators. The anonymous caller stated this problem occurred subut a year ago and provided no other specifics. When asked if he had contacted APS on this item, Mr. Scott stated that he had considered this action, but instead decided to contact the NRC.

During a subsequent cor.versation between Mr. Scott and Mr. R. Zic:.erman on April 5, 1985 (primarily on a different subject), Mr. Scott requested to be informed of the results of a

our findings regarding the corrosion of the diesels. Mr. Zimmerman told Mr. Scott we would inform him of the results of our findings.

NOTE TO RE'ADER: The essential spray pond system provides cooling water to several heat exchangers associated with the diesel generator packages.
