Dear Mr. Thomas:

In accordance to 10 CFR 50.82 we are hearby applying to the '

Nuclear Regulatory Commission for authority to surrender our license voluntarily and to dismantle our L-77 reactor facility and dispose of its component parts. Would you please send us the information that-is required for us to begin this procedure.

Also, Dr. Dwight Dixon, the Facility Chief for our reactor, would like information on the following questions:

1. Now that the desision has been made to decommission the reactor we do not wish to continue operation. What parts of the normal program must we continue to -carry out between now and the time the fuel is removed and the reactor disassembled?
2. The senior operator liceses for Dwight Dixon and Gary Jensen (the only two licensed at our facility to operate the reactor) expire in May. Without operation of the reactor they cannot renew the liceses in tiie usual way. What arrangements can be made to authorize .

us to renew the fuel?

Any help and information you can give us concerning the decomissioning of our reactor will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerel ,
