SUBJECT:
REVISION OF 10 CFR 20.403 A meeting was held in your office on January 17, 1990 to discuss the proposed rule 10 CFR 20.403. Present at the meeting were Kevin Ramsey and John Hickey from NMSS; Joe Mate, Tony Dipalo, and myself from Research.
The discussion focused on your concerns relative to the current wording of paragraphs a and b(2) of 20.403. At the conclusion of the meeting, it was decided that the following changes would be made:
1.
The authority citation would be changed to include the reference to Section 161 "o" under Section 223 that you felt was needed for completeness, and 2.
Part of the discussion section would be revised to provide for additional examples of the kinds of events that should be reported by licensees.
Attached for your review and concurrence is a revised Federal Register notice that incorporates these changes. The additional examples and minor rewrite are contained on pages 5 thru 11. The authority citation change is contained on pages 18, 23, and 28.
If these changes described in the package are acceptable, please concur below and return the cover sheet to me as soon as possible.
