SUBJECT:
Revision of 10 CFR 20.403, 30.50, 40.60, and 70.50 The enclosed draft material is provided for your information, review and comment.
This draft represents the collective efforts of several people in NMSS and other staff offices in trying to revise the subject regulations.
A meeting will be held on October 27, 1988 at 2:00 P.M.in room 6 B 13 at White Flint to finalice the draft regulations prior to beginning the. official coordination process.
This meeting is particularly important because the proposed revision is considered as a major rulemaking and the schedule for this rulemaking has already slipped two months.
Unless we come to some agreement to finalize this draft, the schedule will have to be slipped further.
The ED0's policy on rulemaking is that rules are to be completed within two years from the time they are approved for initiation.
Questions or comments concerning the attached package may be referred to Joseph J. Mate, RES at ext. 23795.
