ADEQUACY OF INFORMATION IN BABCOCK & WILCOX STANDARD SAFETY ANALYSIS REPORT (B-SAR-205) - COMPLIANCE WITH CODES AND STANDARDS RULE,,
l SECTION 50.55a of 10 CFR PART 50, SEISMIC CLASSIFICATION AND SYSTEM QUALITY GROUP CLASSIFICATIONS Plant Name: Babcock & Wilcox Standard Safety Analysis Report (B-SAR-205)
Licensing Stage:
CP i
Doeket No.:
STN-566 $4l Milestone No.: 01-21 Responsible Branch & Project Leader: LWR 2-3, T. Cox Requested Completion Date: November 18, 1975 Technical Review Branch Involved: Reactor Systems Branch Description of Review: Acceptance Review Review Status:
Complete In Tables 3.2-1, 3.2-3, and 3.2-4 of B-SAR-205, the applicant has identified in an adequate manner the Quality Group Classifications and the corresponding codes and standards for those systems and components
(
which comprise the reactor coolant pressure boundary and other fluid systems important to safety. These tables also identify in an adequate l
manner those systems and components important to safety that are designed to withstand the effects of a Safe Shutdown Earthquake (seismic Category I) and remain functional.
l The applicant should provide a piping and instrumentation diagram o the reactor coolant pump and motor showing the Quality Group and l
Seismic Classifications of those systems such as seal water, component cooling water, and lube oil systems that service this component.
This l
diagram should be similar to Figure 5.1-4 of the CESSAR PSAR.
In Section 5.2.1.3 and Table 5.2-1, the applicant has i a ated his intent to comply with the requirements of 10 CFR Part 50, Section 50.55a
" Codes and Standards." The applicant has identified in Table 5.2-2 a list of Code Cases that may be applied to ASME Section III, Class 1 Components within the reactor coolant pressure boundary.

t In Sections 5, 6, 9, and 10, the applicant has identified on the piping and instrumentation diagrams of those fluid systems important to safety, the boundary limits of his quality group classification scheme.
Overall, it appears that the information is approximately 95%
complete. Twelve man-hours were spent on this review.
