Dear Mr. Boyd:
In Amendment 18 to B-SAR-205, B6W proposed to remove the redundant ESFAS signals from the main steam isolation valves and take credit for the turbine stop valves in order to close the system fol.'owing a main steam line break.
NRC telecopy message of March 17, 1978 advised that this proposed design is unacceptable unless the ESFAS signal to the turbine stop valves meet all the requirements of IEEE Std 279-1971.
B6W hereby advises that the redundant ESFAS signal to each main steam isolation valve will be reinstated.
The redundant signals will be indicated for valves V17A162 and V17B162 in Figure 10.1-1.
A revision of Figure 10.1-1 will be forwarded this month in an Amendment 25 to B-SAR-205.
