Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-416 License No. NPF-13 File 0260/L-835.0 Special Report 83-059/0 - Fire Rated Doors Blocked Open During Planned PSW System Outage AECM-83/0420 On June 20, 1983, fire rated doors OC412 and OC712 to the RPS motor generator set rooms were blocked open to aid in room ventilation during a planned Plant Service Water System outage. Plant Service Water provides cooling to the plant chillers which in turn supplies cooling water to the air

, conditioning units for the rooms.

A fire watch was established in accordance with Technical Specification 3.7.7 and will continue until the doors are returned to service. This Special Report is submitted pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.2 as the seven day time limit of Technical Specification 3.7.7 was exceeded. The expected restoration date is July 31, 1983.
