EDO REP 0 W WEEK ENDING SEPTEMBER 26, 1980 1.
TMI Advisory Panel In coordination with the Comission, the EDO finalized a list of 12 nominees to serve or. the TMI Advisory Panel. Mr. Denton will contact these individuals to ascertain their interest in serving on the panel.
2.
TMI-l Restart Delan The EDO met with NRR and ELD to discuss the delays in getting staff input to the TMI restart board and to ensure that the proper priority and attention is being given to resolving these delays.
3.
NMSS to Review Offshore Waste Disnosal Records At the request of EPA, HMSS is reviewing all documentation concerning the disposal of radioactive materials in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans in order to help ascertain the quantity and location of the disposed materials.
4.
Order Issued by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Comission On Monday, the EDO is meeting with H. Dieckamp, President of General Public Utilities Corporation (GPU); R. Arnold of Metropolitan Edison Company; and J. Collins, NRC, to discuss the implications of the Pennsylvania PUC's order prohibiting cleanup and recovery activities at TMI-2 which are not covered by insurance.

Decraded Core Coolino Research At O!!S's request, members of the staff will meet with them on September 30, 1980, to discuss the degraded core cooling severe accident research. Principal interest is:
(1) How does it tie into the rulemaking process; and (2) is the right amount of money being requested? OMB also wants to discuss operational safety research.

Presidential Nuclear S::fety Oversicht Comittee The Cocnittee has invited V. Stello to attend its October 7.1980 meeting.
Mr. Stello will be responding to a list of questions forwarded by the Comittee. Areas of concern include the Nuclear Data Link System and general IE policies and practices.
