Our organisation was established in August,
- 1988, and is very concerned with the proper repositing of low-level radioactive nuclear waste.
Since the State of Michigan is currently studying three areas of the state for the establishment of such a repository we have done extensive studies and research and we have discovered. that the steam generators of one unit of the Ronald C.
Cook plant at 3ridgman,
- Michigan, are being replaced.
)le have also been informed that the generators, being highly radioactive, are being stored on site in concrete
- bunkers, uncovered, and that the NRC approved this method of storage.
Please explain to us on what grounds you'can approve an uncovered storage of such highly radioactive material.
