Reportable Occurrence 335-80-58 Licensee Event Report Pa e- Two Loss of power to PP-112 resulted in the loss of several auxiliaries to the 1B'iesel. These included the exhaust differential temperature alarm, the fuel supply shutoff, valve I-SE-17-1B, and both water heater banks. Loss of the water heater banks would represent a problem only in a Iong term situation. I-SE-17-1B is. a solenoid valve which fails shut on loss of. power; It is located between the diesel oil storage tanks: and the day tanks.. It is controlled. by level sensing limit switches that maintain the level in the day tanks. Each day tank is capable of supplying each diesel at full load. for 100 minutes. There are high and low level alarms. to alert operators to abnormal day tank level These alarms will allow sufficient. time for operator action to restore. fuel oil to the day tanks and therefore maintain the diesels. running. Loss of power to PP-112 did'ot affect any diesel instrumentation systems.
