ISSUANCE OF RENEWED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSES FOR LASALLE COUNTY STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 (TAC NOS. MF5347 AND MF5346)
Dear Mr. Gallagher:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the Commission) has issued renewed facility operating license Nos. NPF-11 and NPF-18 for LaSalle County Station, Units 1 and 2 (LSCS),
respectively. The NRC issued the renewed facility operating licenses based on its review of your application dated December 9, 2014, as supplemented by letters submitted to the NRC through June 8, 2016. Appendix A, the technical specifications, and Appendix B, the environmental protection plan, of the LSCS licenses were not amended as a result of the NRCs review.
Renewed facility operating license No. NPF-11 for Unit 1 expires at midnight on April 17, 2042.
Renewed facility operating license No. NPF-18 for Unit 2 expires at midnight on December 16, 2043.
The technical basis for issuing the renewed facility operating licenses for LSCS is set forth in Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of LaSalle County Station, Units 1 and 2, dated June 2016, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)
Accession No. ML16126A503). The results of the environmental review related to the issuance of the renewed licenses are given in NUREG-1437, Supplement 57, Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants Regarding LaSalle County Station, Units 1 and 2, dated August 2016, (ADAMS Accession No. ML16238A029), and the LaSalle County Station, Units 1 and 2, Record of Decision for License Renewal (ADAMS Accession No. ML16264A222).
For LaSalle Unit 1, Enclosure 1 contains the Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-11. contains the following appendices:
Appendix A, Technical Specifications Appendix B, Environmental Protection Plan For LaSalle Unit 2, Enclosure 3 contains the Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-18 with the following appendices:
Appendix A, Technical Specifications Appendix B, Environmental Protection Plan is a copy of the related Federal Register notice of issuance of the renewed licenses. The NRC staff has sent the original to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
