2011 ANNUAL CERTIFICATION OF FINANCIAL ASSURANCE FOR DECOMMISSIONING

Dear Mr. Sherin:

General Electric (GE) submitted the 2011 annual certification of financial assurance for decommissioning on March 18, 2011. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRCs) staff had several rounds of requests for additional information; the first by letter dated June 2, 2011, and the second by letter dated December 20, 2011. GE responded to the requests in letters dated August 17, 2011, and January 19, 2012. The NRC staff also had a conference call on June 17, 2011.

The NRC staff finds that GE has submitted the required information in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 70.25(f)(2) and Part 30, Appendix A,Section II.C.1. The NRC staff has no additional questions at this time. This letter concludes the action on the 2011 annual certification and closes the assigned Technical Assignment Control Number L33125.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rule of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records System component of the NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
