Dear Sir or Madam:
GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy Americas, L.L.C. (GEH-A) hereby submits this report for a discovery of a degradation in a security system for which compensatory measures were not employed within the required timeframe. Specifically, a loss of power at the Vallecitos Nuclear Center (VNC) impacted a security system and resulted in a delay in implementing compensatory measures.
An evaluation has determined that this event was of low safety significance and there was no release, loss of material or unauthorized entry due to the event. An internal condition report was opened to track and remedy the cause of the event.
