The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) received your letter dated December 14, 2010 (Agencywide Document Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML103500131), requesting an extension to the response time proposed in your letter dated August 27, 2010 (ADAMS Accession No. ML102440116). With the later letter, you had requested an extension to respond to request for additional information (RAI) 2 from August 31, 2010, to November 15, 2010. This extension was granted through our letter of October 8, 2010 (ADAMS Accession No. ML102740245).
In your letter dated December 14, 2010, you requested an additional extension to January 31, 2011, to complete your response to RAI 2. We have reviewed and approved your extension request for the following reasons: 1) recently there has been progress in responding to RAIs and 2) your DOE contractor needs additional time to finalize the calculation for the thermal hydraulic and nuclear analysis of the Maryland University Training Reactor core.
