Dear Sirs:

By letter dated March 18, 2008 (Agencywide Document Access System (ADAMS)

ML080660678) from R. Elliott to the Technical Specifications Task Force (TSTF), the NRC staff provided milestone target completion dates for review of Revision 3 of TSTF-493, Clarify Application of Setpoint Methodology for LSSS Functions. The target dates for the Federal Register Notification (FRN) for Comment and Notice of Availability (NOA) were June 13, 2008 and September 12, 2008, respectfully.

The purpose of this letter is to report that while the NRC staff has made progress reviewing TSTF-493, NRR staff positions on the scope of TSTF-493 content and NRR staff considerations of technical consistency issues between vendor Standard Technical Specifications (refer to June 4, 2008 BWROG public meeting (ADAMS ML081430677)), require new target dates for the TSTF-493 review. The NRC staff expects to have new target dates for the FRN for Comment and NOA for TSTF-493 in the August 2008 time frame.
