Dear Ms. Jacobs:
From September 10-14, 2007, reactor inspectors from Engineering Branch 1 of the Division of Reactor Safety will be performing an onsite inspection of your 10 CFR 50.59 and permanent plant modification programs. The inspectors will perform the inspection using guidance of NRC Inspection Procedures 71111.02, "Evaluations of Changes, Tests, and Experiments", and 71111.17B, "Permanent Plant Modifications." Please provide the following documents requested, electronically or ims.certrec.com, to the lead inspector in the week prior to the onsite portion of the inspection. If you have any questions, please contact the lead inspector.

- a. A list of all 10 CFR 50.59 screens performed from September 2005 through September 2007, which did not result in an evaluation.
- b. A list of all 10 CFR 50.59 evaluations performed which did not result in application for license amendment to NRC from September 2005 through September 2007.
Note: Description of items to be screened and evaluated should be brief, but of sufficient detail so that inspectors can determine the significance of the issue.
- c. Diablo Canyon procedure for conducting 10 CFR 50.59 screens and evaluations.
- d. A list of all condition reports (i.e., corrective action reports) related to 10 CFR 50.59 activities, including screens and evaluations from September 2004 through September 2007.
