Areas Inspected:

Inspection by the IE Regional Resident Inspector of the Auxiliary Building, Fuel Handling Building, Units 1 and 2 containments and

miscellaneous areas to verify that activities in progress complied with

the stop work order issued August 7, 1979. This inspection also included

a review of storage and maintena'nce activities' for safety-related items,

and the testin;; of equipment and unloading of the reactor vessel upper and lower internals. This inspection' involved a total of 136 inspector hours i

on site by one NRC. inspector.

Results: No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.

Functional or Program Areas Inspected 1.

Construction Activities Inspection of construction activities indicated that work in all Category I areas, i.e., safety-related work, remains terminated in accordance with NRC confirmatory order dated August 15, 1979, except for material receiving, storage, and maintenance. Four tours were made on the second shift to assure those activities were also being maintained in a stop work condition.

No' items of' noncompliance or deviations were identified.

Storage'and Ma'intenance of Material The inspector-observed the storage and maintenance of material on the basis of on-going daily activities and on the corrective action

that hed been_taken on the problems identified in Report Nos.

-50-546/79-25:and 50-547/79-25. This corrective action review was informal and was-requested by the liccasee.

It was observed that

'During the reporting period, the reactor vessel upper and' lower internals were received on site, the_ required lifting equipment was tested,-and the internals were unloaded and placed in storage.
