Functional or Program Areas Inspected 1.
Construction Surveillance of the Category I, s3fety related portions of the plant indicated construction work had been terminated and the areas remained in a "no" work status. The only activities observed concerned persons performing surveillance of the site and small crews performing preven-tative maintenance on installed equipment.
2.
Ground Water Inleakage The inspector observed several locations in the Category I safety related structures that were wet and discolored from the inleakage of ground water. These locations were noted in the vicinity of 364 ft. and lower elevations. The leakage rates varied from dis-colored concrete to gallons per minute.
In some instances, the mineral content in the water had appeared to stop the flow.
In other instances, it was difficult to assess the rate of leakage due to the mineral deposits covering the walls. The licensee stated that the problem was under study and that corrective action would be initiated when work resumed. The inspector stated this item (546/79-21-01; 547/79-21-01) would remain unresolved and would be reviewed during a subsequent inspection.
