Bryan Vice President - Nuclear Post Office Box 149 St. Louis, MO 63166 Gentlemen: Thank you for your letter dated July 31, 1980, informing us of steps you have taken to correct the noncompliances identified in our letter dated July 11, 1980.
Based on a telephone conversation between Mr. M. P. Phillips and Mr. N. Slaten of your staff in regards to deficiencies 2 and 3 we understand that: (1) water quality data will be gathered at both Stations A-1 and A-2 pending the issuance of an amendment to paragraph 3.E.7 of the Construction Permit, and that the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation has been contacted regarding this amendment; and (2) the installation of monitoring equipment at the settling ponds will in fact be completed by September 12, 1980 rather than the August 15, 1980 date given in your letter.
We will examine your corrective actions during a future inspection.
