The inspector performed a plant totr, inspected containment and auxiliary building construction work in progress, and reviewed projected construction schedules.

The inspection involved 16 inspector-hours on site by two NRC regional based inspectors.

Results: No items of noncompliance were identified.

Plant Tour The insoector observed work activities in progress, completed work, and construction status in several areas.

Work items were examined for obvious defects and for noncompliance with regulatory require-ments and licensee commitments.

Specific activities observed by the inspector included the placement of concrete on the containment wall, structural steel erection, and the installation of electrical cable trays.

No items of noncompliance were identified.

Construction Schedules and Work Status Stone and Webster representatives discussed the recently revised construction schedule with the inspector.

This schedule is based upon working only 8-hour day shif ts, with overtime or off-shift work to be perfomed only where necessary due to specific work requirements.

The present work force of approximately 950 craft personnal is expected to be increased to 1300, as required by schedulei increases in mechanical and electrical construction.

4.

Organization of Quality Assurance and Quality Control The licensee presented to the inspector the current structure of the site quality assurance and quality contrcl organization.

The review included the quality organization of the construction manager (Stone and Webster) in addition to all other site contractors performing safety related work, together with their interrelation-ship in the licensee's quality program.

No items of noncompliance were identified.

5.

Exit Interview The inspeutor met with licensee and contractor representatives (denoted in Paragraph 1) at the conclusion of the inspection.

The inspector summarized the scope and findings of the inspection as described in this report.
