NRC INSPECTION REPORT N0. 50-395/88-17 Thank you for your response of October 14, 1988, to our Notice of Violation issued on September 16, 1988, concerning activities conducted at your V. C. Summer facility. We have evaluated your response and found that it meets the requirements of 10 CFR 2.201.
Af ter careful review of the bases for your denial described in the Violation and due to an oversight of the inadvertant omission of the example given in paragraph 8 of the report, from the NOV, we agree with your position and have deleted the violation from our records. However, we agree with your corrective actions for the procedural violation stated in the paragraph 8, in that this should strenghten Surveillance Test Procedure (STP) 345.074.
We will examine the implementation of your corrective actions of the procedural violation during future inspections.
