gnd 50-366/81-28 This refers to the special safety inspection conducted by Mr. W. T. Orders of this office on September 29 - October 2,1981, and to an enforcement conference held at the Region II office on October 29, 1981, regarding activities authorized by NRC Operating License Nos. DPR-57 and NPF-5 for the Hatch facility.
Our preliminary findings were discussed with Mr. T. V. Greene, Assistant Plant Manager, and 11r. C. T. Jones, Assistant Plant lianager, at the conclusion of the site inspection and with Messrs, G. F. Head, Senior Vice President of Power Generation and J. T. Beckham, Vice President and General Manager-Nuclear Generation at the October 29 enforcement conference.
Areas examined during the inspection and our findings are discussed in the enclosed inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
The enforcement action related to this inspection was addressed to the Georgia Power Company in a letter from the Director of the Office of Inspection and Enforcement dated March 29, 1982.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosure (s)
will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room unless you notify this office,

by telephone, within ten days of the date of this letter and submit written
application to withhold information contained therein within thirty days of the date of this letter. Such application must be consistent with the requirements of2.790(b)(1).
