Inspection on April 9-10, 1980 (Report No. 50-293/80-24)
Area Inspected:
Routine announced inspection of the installed Main Steam ADS System Relief Valve Solenoid Valves including cable, raceways, junction boxes and penetrations as described in the IEB 79-01B licensee submittal dated April 1, 1980.

IEB 79-01B - Installation Verification The inspector on April 9-10, 1980 with the assistance of Mr. K. Roberts, NRC resident inspector, performed a IEB 79-01B verification inspection at the Pilgrim I site.
The inspection was performed in accordance with the inspection instructions entitled " Inspection Requirements for Verifying Reactor Licensee Responses to IE Bulletin No. 79-018.

The inspection consisted of verifying that the relief valve solenoid valves for valve no's SV203-3A, 203-38, 203-3C and 203-3D were the identical items as listed in the licensee's 90 day submittel in response to IEB 79-018.
Inverifyingthecables, raceways,junctionboxes,andpenetrations, the following licensee's documentation was reviewed.

During the drawing review the licensee informed the inspector that the ADS solenoid valves identified in the 90 day report as ASCO model HT8300-B64F were to be replaced with Target Rock model 1/2SMS-A-01 serial numbers 1049, 1040, 1048 and 1054.
The inspector verified that the ASCO solenoid valves were not replaced with the new target rock mcdel durina the cont.1in-l ment inspection.

be replaced after the hydro testing was completed.
The inspector verified that the replacement Target Rock solenoid valves were in stock.
A review of the work package for the installation of the Target Rock model was not ready during this inspection period and the licensee was informed that this installation package would be reviewed during a later inspection.
The NRC resident addressed this modification in inspection report 50-293/80-18 at which time it was not completed. This has been identified by the resident inspector and will be verified during a future inspection.
3.
Exit Interview At the conclusion of the inspection on April 10, 1980, a meeting was held at the Pilgrim Unit 1 site with representatives of the licensee.
Attendees at this meeting included personnel whose names are indicated by notation (*)
in paragraph 1.
The inspector summarized the results of the inspection as described in this report.
