Thank you for your letter of November 24,1998, in response to our October 26,1998, letter and Notice of Violation concerning the failure to demonstrate that the performance or '
condition of the reactor protection system and the engineered safety features system had been effectively controlled by performing appropriate preventive maintenance, in that, no availability measure was considered in the demonstration. We have reviewed your reply and find it responsive to the concerns raised in our Notice of Violation. We will review the implementation of your corrective actions during a future inspection to determine that full compliance has been achieved and will be maintained.
