In addition to the above, the inspector examined Air Operated Valves Nos. A0-23-42 and A0-23-43.
The installed Air Operated Valve No.
A0-23-42 did not correspond with the information supplied by the licensee in response to NRC Bulletin 79-018. Air Operated Valve No. A0-23-43 did not have an identification tag and therefore could not be verified as conforming with the information supplied by the licensee.
Discussions with the licensee indicates that the informa-tion on Air Operated Valves is not current.
The licensee stated that the 79-01B response on Air Operated Valves was based on a sur-vey performed in April,1977.
The licensee furnished the inspector a copy of an engineering work letter (Res 5-3, MOD #514D) dated January 22, 1980 for Nameplate Inspection of Air Operated Valves scheduled for completion in February, 1980.
The nameplate identification for Air Operated Valve No. A0-23-43 corresponds with the data listed in the above inspection report indicating the original valve was replaced.
Upon further inspection the inspector noted that the original Air Operated Valve model number for A0-23-42 contained the prefix THT, indicating a high temperature applicatica.
The inspector was unable to verify whether the replacement valve model r. umber 8321A5 (S/N 53481D) was qualified for this application.
The discrepancy between the reported component identification and the actual installation is unresolved pending NRC review of licensee re-evaluation, qualification and submittal of current corrected data in accordance with IE Bulletin No. 79-018 (050-278/80-25-01).
