Subject: Combined Inspection Nos. 50-272/86-05; 50-311/86-05 On April 24, 1986, a management meeting was held in the Region I office at your request to discuss the Notice of Violation associated with the subject inspection. During that meeting, your representatives stated that each shipping container used under 10 CFR 71.12 was checked against Quality Assurance documents (including annual letters attesting to periodic tests and maintenance) provided by the shipping container owner to ensure that each individual shipping container had been tested and maintained in accordance with its Certificate of Compliance. However, the checks were not specifically recorded on shipment document Your representatives stated that this prac-tice was followed for each of the shipments noted in our Notice of Violatio Your representatives stated that changes to appropriate shipping procedures would be made to record those check On the basis of the statements made by your representatives, we will withdraw the Notice of Violation (Appendix A to our letter dated March 24, 1986) and alter our records accordingl Your representatives requested an extension of thirty days on the Appendix B, Notice of Deviation of our March 24, 1986 lette You are requested to respond within thirty days of the date of this letter to that Notice of Deviatio
