.Since the issuance of RIII Confirmatory Action Letter (CAL) 85-04 on April 5, 1985, there have been 15 SG signal indications observed on the MS transient monitoring syste The inspector's review of ea~lier signal indications were do~umented in RIII Inspection Reports 50-237 /85018 and 50-237 /8502 The inspect.or reviewed the fo 11 owj ng two strain gage (SG) signal strip charts during this inspection:

Upon review of the abov~ ~aterial, the *inspector concurred with the CECo techhical ~valuatio~s and the proposed. upgrade of the monitoring syste The inspector 1 s review of the CE Co presentation *and discussions with the litensee and ~&L technical personnel formed the basis for an~amendment to CAL 85~04. Amendment 1 was issued on October 23, 1985 (Attachment 1).
