RE: Follow-up re: Piping & NDE Call John, Theresa -

For D1, the staff would like to understand the NMP2 application of the GE BWROG TR relative to the associated 10 CFR requirements. In other words, how is the criteria being changed in reference to the TR, and still meeting all associated requirements (e.g., 10 CFR 50 App R).

For D3, the staff requests clarification to NMP2 core cooling assurance using RCIC or pseudo LPCI, and actions needed to get plant to cold S/D. Is licensee/NMP2 relying on RCIC until operator can get to remote S/D panel? Is licensee's approach consistent with the regulations?

Sorry for the delay in getting this additional info to you.

Follow-up re: Piping & NDE Call Theresa, I understand from Jay Wallace that the question we had on the MSIP weld was addressed - specifically, that the weld (2RPV-KC-32) does not have a weld overlay and it will be inspected every 6 years per BWRVIP-75. I understand that you can provide a supplement on the docket. I recommend that you reference the 1/27 phone call in the letter.

Please confirm you have this for action and advise when I should expect the letter.

Thanks, Rich Rich Guzman Sr. Project Manager NRR/DORL US NRC 301-415-1030 Richard.Guzman@nrc.gov
